4.5 more like it, really good little survival horror game with a lovely retro aesthetic. It checks off all the boxes of a good old school survival horror game. Only gripes is that the map isn't the best showing direction, but that said, PLAY it!

Someone cool gave me this as a get well gift. I’m excited to play it when I can play games again.

Thanks cool person, you rock!

Looking forward to continuing this, though part of me says I should've waited until the fall to do so.... buuuut it was on sale and I wanted to play something I thought I'd really enjoy.

It is clearly inspired by Resident Evil, but doesn’t copy it as much as I thought it would. The item screen, with the heartbeat reflecting health and ID, is there. As is the raise weapon mechanic. Crow-Country-Screenshot-2025-06-29-22-29-39-80

But that’s where the differences start: your camera is not fixed, nor is your aim. The flashlight and theme park setting are more Silent Hill, though, as is the screen noise filter.

Spooktober 2024 Game #8 Complete!

Admittedly, I wasn't as into this game as I expected to be the first time I played it, but once I got a little ways in, I found it pretty engaging and ended up enjoying it a lot more as it went on. It was not my favorite of the month, but definitely one it …

Admittedly, I wasn't as into this game as I expected to be the first time I played it, but once I got a little ways in, I found it pretty engaging and ended up enjoying it a lot more as it went on. It was not my favorite of the month, but definitely one it was easy to come back to till I finished it.

I was able to interview Adam Vian, the creative director of Crow Country, and he told me a lot of interesting things about the lore of the game.

Here's the interview. As usual, its in spanish but in this day and age of bilinguism and automatic translation tools that shouldn't be a problem.

Crow Country is a game inspired by ps1 era classic Japanese horror games, but for some reason hasn’t been released here in Japan. It’s really disappointing. The PlayStation store lists it as “announced”. I wonder what the holdup is. I’d like to play it someday
