A great blend of Journey and maybe.. The Witness? Very pleasant puzzler/adventure game. Lots of timed running sections, lining up pillars and light and box moving mechanics. The premise was quite interesting and I might go back to see how it plays out. Each ‘world’ represents a stage of grief that one goes through after the passing of a loved …

RiME is a competently made game, has beautiful art work and a soothing soundtrack, but... I gave up after reaching the second act. If you've played anything from Team Ico (Ico, Shadow of the Colossus and The Last Guardian), it's aiming for the same vibes. It has no dialogue and no text and conveys its' story with art and imagery.

Unlike the Team Ico games, RiME feels like it's missing that certain something. There's not much of a hook to this game, the puzzles and platforming are simple and the only challenge is finding all the collectibles. The game also runs unusually poor with noticeable frame stutters and isn't exactly a graphical masterpiece. Also I didn't like the camera controls, it has a tendency to move by itself which was common before dual analog controls were invented.

Not going to rate this game because I haven't completed it, but my current review would be a 2/5.

In awe so far, this is just beautiful sights and sounds, not very difficult but rewarding puzzle/problem solving, and some cute animals.

I picked this up and figured I'd have some fun playing a nice, pretty, relaxing indie puzzle platformer/adventure game. Then RiME was like, "Surprise, motherfucker. You thought you'd just have a light and fun gaming time? No. This is a game about grief. And loss. And depression."

What a gutpunch this one is once its story is revealed in full. It's good, though, and the closing music deserves special mention, but after this I kinda need to play something that isn't fucking sad.

Unfortunately, this game's inconsistent framerate on my PS4 Pro made me motion sick pretty quickly and I wasn't able to play it for very long. It's a visually stunning game and I would have liked to play more of it, but that won't be happening.

Gonna put this one on hold for now. I started to get bored after an hour, now I'm two hours in and still bored even though I usually like this type of game. The gameplay isn't particularly interesting and there's no enthralling story to keep me going. The cute fox couldn't save it either.

Didn't care for this one the way it seems like a lot of you do. I found myself around the end of the third act and just not wanting to play anymore because I was so bored with the slow pace, fussy platforming, and irritating navigation. I think this is the end of the road for me and Rime. I'd …

Didn't care for this one the way it seems like a lot of you do. I found myself around the end of the third act and just not wanting to play anymore because I was so bored with the slow pace, fussy platforming, and irritating navigation. I think this is the end of the road for me and Rime. I'd rather play Journey, which is shorter and a better artistic statement, or Ico, which is more engaging, or Shadow of the Colossus, which has more action, or Wind Waker, which is the best game of all 5.

Started playing over the weekend (thanks, PS Plus!) but currently on the fence about continuing or not.

It isn't a bad game, it's just feeling a bit more like a chore than Journey or ABZÛ. It does both land and sea exploration but neither as well as those games. Admittedly that's a high bar to meet, but RiME's play time is quite a bit longer so the differences have more time to stick out.

RiME can be quite beautiful, but those moments are a bit too fleeting... the game gives you a taste of gorgeous, saturated environments but swiftly obscures them with day/night cycles, underground passages and weather mechanics that should signify progress but feel like a punishment to me as they muddy the visuals. I ended up increasing the game's brightness, as it seemed so eager to plunge me into darkness.

When the soundtrack works, it achieves that Spielbergian sense of awe as you take in some ruin or see the results of a puzzle solution. But other times it seems detached from the gameplay... multiple times I've heard the orchestra swell as I clumsily explore some dead-end passageway. It was funny at first, but grew distracting to the point that I adjusted the game's music volume down.

I'm going to give this one or two more chances to justify its length. I'm not optimistic given the introduction of enemies, which I feel to be a poor fit for a game of this style. But clearly a lot of love has gone into the title so I want to give it the benefit of the doubt a bit longer.

Started playing it today. Man, isn't this game beautiful? The art direction is top-notch and the soundtrack is soothing. It kinda reminds me of Journey. It's not great but it got me intrigued. Looking forward to playing it more.

I actually would give it 3 stars. Because game has too many bugs, screen freezes even at the low settings.

But whatever, i did enjoy it ;

Beginning -> Interesting,

Progress -> Sometimes boring but averagely not bad,

Ending -> Very good.
