Three hours in, bad programming ended my whole playthrough, lol. Got a key from a boss to open the next zone. Explored it a bit, but i needed to save so I could go to work and I wasn't sure how far the next save point would be. So I ran back out to the old one. Next time I played, that door to the next zone is locked again, the key is no longer in my inventory, and the boss I got it from is dead. Completely locked out of further progression. Too bad, I wanted to give this game a bit further to see what it had going on, but I ain't gonna restart for it.
