I don't know what happened to them, but since dirt 3, only crappy titles. I am a long time fan of codemasters since Toca 2, and i really don't understand why. Dirt 5 has nothing new, it's a weak combination of Dirt 2 and showdown and maybe something else. The career is boring, pod casts are useless, uninteresting. This is the worst Dirt in the history of Dirt games. I don't have nothing good to say to this game, other than, it's a good way to really waste your time with a cute, arcade game, after you had it on sale after the existing sale. Last but not least, no replay? no rally?
L.E. After completing chapter 2 and having 115 points/coins, whatever, i cannot play any race. Crashes at 1 after the countdown. I did everything i could to make sure the files and game are up to date (honestly, doing this raises a red flag). Good job Codemasters.
Soulless, uninteresting racing game which lost almost all good that was in Dirt series. It tries to copy Dirt 2 and 3 but fails in every aspect. Music is still okay, but visual style goes in the wrong direction, all this toxic bright colors and clown car liveries create a vibe of some childish game. Physics have become way too simple and arcade, it just doesn't fun to drive these cars and it's hard to feel any difference between them.
Racing modes are more or less the same. Several different variations of rallycross and rally raid, new Pathfinder mode where you need to overcome absolute off-road on a big wheel truck (kinda fun one), oval circuit racing on some small cars which look like something between a cart and a lawn mower (an opposite to fun mode) and gymkhana. I never liked Gymkhana, but now I remember it in Dirt 3 and there it was an original mode on an open maps with many activities. In Dirt 5 it's a joke on a small stadiums where you fight with your own car and don't enjoy it at all.
Lastly, a little bit about achievements. By finishing everything in the career …

Lastly, a little bit about achievements. By finishing everything in the career mode you'll get almost all the trophies except the one: Drive 1000 miles. I had 520 miles in the end of career (took me about 16 hours), and the only way to finish it off was using user custom map and leaving gamepad with jammed acceleration button for 6 more hours. Such achievements shouldn't exist at all.
Overall, skip it. I got this game for free from PS+ and still regret about wasting time.
I wouldn't recommend it to the fans of the Dirt series expecting something similar to Dirt 2 or 3. It's just a forgivable casual racer which is fun. It's not really a simulator, also it doesn't feel truly next gen. If you want a next gen experience, play Forza Horizon 5.
Very generic racing game. Really not that good. Career is far too long and it consists of very repetitive events. Its made worse by the fact there are very few locations in the game (like most Codemaster games) so it gets stale very quickly. Modes are all ok, but the sprint race class are truly the worst thing I have ever seen in a racing game. Virtually impossible to win and even with AI set to the easiest possible difficulty its still a monumental test of patience. Its a case of once its done, you never ever want to do it again in your life. How this got the greenlight is a mystery.
I'll continue playing until I hit the end and I'll try to get the plat but I'm seeing reports of trophies being bugged such as the unlocking all throwdowns and driving 1,000 miles. I'll see.
My advice, save your money and buy something else. I recently played Gravel. That was a far better game in my opinion. Its the same basic game, the modes are almost identical. If off road/muddy racing is your thing then this will be a disappointment. Its a shame as Dirt 2 was the …
