Holy cow I used to love Black & White. When I installed it for the first time in 2001 I'd never seen anything like it. Holy cow I used to love Black & White. When I installed it for the first time in 2001 I'd never seen anything like it. It's really an RTS but with so much more depth, as you choose your light or dark (Black/White) moral path and with your hand of God you're controlling villages and villagers, performing miracles and handling everything in between by simply picking it up. It just feels great, physics are fun and responsive and blew me away at the time, and you're left with so much freedom to play around and explore the limits of the game.
Creatures is a whole other thing, and also a totally wild and unexpected part of the game, where you obtain and train a giant cow, wolf, ape, horse or other exotic animals of your choosing. It's like a giant tamagotchi that wreaks havoc on whatever village you want it to. People can worship you or hate you and picking up villagers and throwing them across the land is super fun, but also you surely realise the consequences of your decisions. No idea if it holds up today but back in '01 I thought Black & White was awesome!
