Kuru Kuru Kururin entered my life out of nowhere. Imagine the saddest, most beat up Game Boy Advance box you've ever seen; lost and crushed under video tapes on SALE in some bin at the local grocery store. It was only 5$ and it had a weird name, but the box art hinted at a puzzler and I'm always down for handheld puzzle games.
You're a blue duck in a helicopter (I just thought it was a rod) and you go through mazes trying not to hit the walls. You can switch spin directions, but hit any boundaries and you lose seconds - three hits and you're dead. Simple, rewarding and incredibly fun! You can customise your "rod" and you can speed run levels for replayability. I can't recommend this game enough, it's great and addictive and you should pick it up, preferably on a handheld, not on the Wii.
This is the definition of a hidden gem. It's obscure, and while not incredibly deep or fulfilling, it's a good enough time and I liked replaying levels to find my weird alien duck family to get the true ending. I wish there were more power-ups!
This game stressed me out so much. 4/5
