You’d Be MAD Not To Play This!

Move to the beat of the music by dashing, jumping, dropping, and dancing to reach the end of each stage. If you happen to die along the way, no worries! Rewind time to put yourself in a better position so you can get around whatever stands in your way. Only thing you need to be careful of is the timer, once that’s reached zero you’ll have to replay the stage again.

The game has great visuals with bright popping colors, simple but charming character and enemy designs, and beautiful backgrounds.

The music in Mad Rat Dead is excellent. The music genres such as electro swing, dubstep, and glitch hop are what will move you along through the stages.

Mad Rat Dead is a fantastic mishmash of a rhythm-based platformer. If the game doesn’t draw you in with its vibrant colors and cartoonish style, then the excellent soundtrack should be enough to pull you into its fantastic little world.

Excellent Tunes but Feels Cheap
This review is for the PlayStation 4 version

I love 90% of the music in this game. And the game plays well! Unfortunately it's feels and looks half-baked. The stage design can be a bit boring at times and the visuals smack of cheap production. The story is a little interesting but also needs more time in the oven.

It's not perfect but I'm really enjoying the music. You definitely have more wiggle room with the movement of your character unlike other games in the genre that constrain your movement to keep the rhythm gameplay on beat.
