Surprisingly Intriguing

I actually kinda dug this. Pretty short (I wanna say around 3 hours on average?), not particularly scary at all, but it was pretty interesting for the cheap experience it was and it had some genuinely funny moments. Pretty short (I wanna say around 3 hours on average?), not particularly scary at all, but it was pretty interesting for the cheap experience it was and it had some genuinely funny moments. The lore behind it was intriguing enough (moreso than most other little indie horror games that have cropped up lately), and it did have some genuinely eerie moments to its credit - the speech training with Amanda reading out things such as "baa lamb" and "pie man" and realising what they sound like was actually pretty chilling. Actually got impressively emotionally attached to Wooly and Amanda's dad by the end. I hope they do more with this someday.

Dora la aterradora

This game turns into a complete obsession during the 3 - 4 hours it takes to solve all its puzzles, unravel the secrets and reach all the endings and then during the next two days while you watch all the lore explainer videos you can find on YouTube.

And then you will forget all about Amanda and Wooly.

You can read my review of the new PS5 port (in spanish) here.

The spanish localization is full of mistakes and PS5 port has several problems. If you're curious, play it on PC.

Dora la Acojonadora

Un juego de Dora la Exploradora, pero absolutamente malrollero. Tiene una premisa muy original y, pese a su corta duración, es muy satisfactorio husmear en los secretos de la historia.

Short creepy pasta horror puzzler

Amanda the Adventurer is a pretty solid horror puzzle game that falls into the deceptively cute/nostalgic/innocence turns to nightmare type horror. It’s short, not the best in the niche, but still has its moments.

I dug the video tapes. They are supposed to emulate 90’s kids shows but really seemed more like modern YouTube kids poop. It still did a good job of feeling authentically VHS era and was pretty creepy.

The puzzles were serviceable. But the game just ended so fast and didn’t really have a big pay off or story explanation, so I can’t totally recommend it. Would recommend games like Pony Island or Buddy Simulator 1984 first (or even watching the first season of Channel Zero - basically the same premise but actually terrifying).
