Cute is the theme of the night, I suppose. Haunt the House is a puzzle/adventure/action something in which you play one of a few ghosts haunting the people out of four Victorian-esque locations - a mansion, a town, a carnival train, and a North Pole department store. The art design, kiddy and a little spoopy, and the old timey jazzy wazzy music is superb.
It took me just a couple of hours to speed through the whole thing, and you're graded on your time. But, if you're not trying to wipe out your backlog & "playing" (or, yikes I started this like six years ago I should finish it) list like me, you can really dig in and explore all the sights and sounds a bit more. There are achievements and a few unlockables, too.
CW: There are a few frightening things not suitable for young kids, and also please know some of the NPCs you're haunting may be scared into committing suicide, dubbed "window jumpers."
I love the art design of this game. The ghosts are adorable and the setting of each level is packed full of cute detail. The game is fun in doses, but I don't think I am invested enough to replay each level to up my ranking. It's a fun little diversion for a few minutes of play here and there. I think it would be phone on mobile for quick sessions during things like a daily commute.
