Combat is shallow, button mashing with little finesse or technicality even compared to the earliest beat me ups. Requiring almost no positioning or crowd control. It also lacks a large variety of moves to move up for the shallowness (there isn't even so much as a throw or an aerial move which isn't worthless).
Difficulty ranges from sleep-inducing (normal+easy) to kind of annoying but you have checkpoints every second screen (hard mode).
