I wanted to enjoy this and like what the game is doing because it's pretty unique, and has some nice style points. A highly unusual blend of genres: There is the extraction shooter component, then there are the Rogue-lite/RPG mechanics of a 'run' then you have the survival horror component, it's all wrapped up and tied together with a Lovecraftian/VictorianGothic bow in a package that almost resembles old school multiplayer games (No, it's not a MUD but the game IS a "Multi User Dungeon," haha)
Unfortunately, the game is chaotic. You might or might not find ammo, bandages or anything you need. It's a real toss up what will go for or against you. It's fun to poke around and explore but the way monsters spawn in this is super annoying. As a player, there is only so much agency you have over what you can or should do, in terms of strategic focus. There also didn't really seem to be much potential for actually engaging much with the other players.
Ultimately, I feel it's a flawed design but features some interesting ideas. I burned away an evening playing it, then felt I had enough.
I think this a game about those cute hairy aquatic mammals.. Oh, no, I'm confusing it with Hell is Otters. Anyway, it's free on Epic
