Was everything I needed and a little more

I really enjoyed this cosy Goth puzzler. The art was modern dark matching Clem's weird creepy little voice perfectly. Liked that it was not overly directive, you had to keep walking about following clues and figuring out what next. The puzzles were interesting enough whilst pitched at a comfortable level. It’s pretty unique and the puzzles are very well designed. It’s really cool to see the whole Metroidvania “ability / backtracking” mechanic in the adventure game genre, and it makes for some really fun gameplay. It’s also very well animated and polished, and controls really well.

The narrative though… kind of lost me. It has these subtle hints of horror, but those elements feel so out of place in the rest of the world. There’s also hint of magick and witchcraft… but it just stays really subtle and I never really understood the thematic underpinnings of the game. The ending was kinda sweet though :,)

But gameplay is king, and it’s well done. Not one of the best games in the genre, but fun enough to be worth a playthrough. If you enjoy point and click type inventory and logic puzzles (plus some mini games) - definitely check it out.
