I put about an hour of roaming around and trying to interact with the game in any meaningful way. I could not find it. It is based on a pretty old DOS game but it gives you NO HELP AND NO TIPS ON WHAT TO DO OR HOW TO PLAY!

I read the in-game kind of intro and guide and was like what?! Everyone I tried to interact with did not understand anything I said to them. They only said "What?" to everything which is worthless!

At least, when I used to play DOS games typing HELP would get me a legend or a direction! Anyway, there were 3 objectives to start, I found no way to progress in them. I got into some random battles and never connected with a hit even though my main PC had high strength and fighting and pugilism skills! Well, I guess that is not enough to do 1 point of damage on a rat!

FUCK! What a frustrating experience. I guess they wanted to capture the "charm" of the original but would it have killed the remaster to make ANY concessions so I could play it in 2020?

With all appreciation and due respect for the classic, this remastered version of Wasteland feels and looks more like a mobile game. Lazily modernized graphics, completely outdated gameplay: This remake of a classic is only for the most nostalgic of veterans.

The game is probably true to the roots of the period in which it was made. However, it is so different and far from today's principles of user-game interaction that i think most people will struggle and even outright fale to enjoy it. Just remember that ANY action requires you to select a character, pick the skill list and then activate the skill/item, all done using a list-like interface. It applaude the effort, i am just not part of the group of people that will appreciate the effort.

Definitely not the easiest UI but I really enjoyed it once I got used to the controls. The story is simple but was obviously advanced for it's day. It sets the groundwork for the franchise well.

I did not realise this was in the works! Coming out soon apparently. The precursor to Fallout 1. I've tried to play the original DOS version of this but could never get my head around it, perhaps a bit too old and janky, but I've always wanted to give it a proper playthrough. This remaster looks great! I'll be playing this and ignoring Wasteland 3 most likely.
