I'll need to write a review later, holy cow that was some deluxe game quality.

I'm surprised I didn't like Fez more. I enjoy exploring and puzzle platformers, but I consistently felt done after about an hour of gameplay.

The primary loop is strong, but it REALLY needs a story and the conceit is surprisingly shallow, at least most of the time. To be fair, there's a lot of creativity with the conceit, and I'm sure all the tricks were hard to design! But unfortunately they're easy to solve via the cycle of: go until you get stuck, rotate world, repeat.

For me, Fez had solid potential, yet it mostly lands in the category of "pleasant time-waster".

I think I'm gonna give this another shot now that I have The Tunic Experience™ under my belt. Any non-spoiler-y game-wide tips appreciated.

I bought this on sale for $5 at some point and figured, what the hell, I’ve heard about this game for years as well as the story behind it from the indie game dev movie. Well, I’ve played it 3 times, and every time I have fallen asleep. It’s just too calm, quiet, slow, I don’t know.

Not my cup of tea in the slightest. Ah well. At least I can say I tried.

Picked up Fez for the Vita when it was on sale for a couple bucks. It never really piqued my interest that much, but I figured why not give it a spin at that price.

Turns out, it really just isn't my thing. The world-spinning gimmick is very neat and clever, but I got tired of it pretty quick. The art style and strange lack of much music didn't impress me either. I'm just not into games where you search endlessly for where to go and where to find things.

FEZ is definitely one of the most well made, fascinating video games I've ever seen. That being said, it's still not really up my alley as far as games go (which is crazy considering it's a platformer and that's my favorite genre) but I'm still doing my best to get through it cause I respect what they created so much.

The first game I have played that gave me motion sickness. After an hour I could hardly stand. Excellent game though. I had to tap out and go for the 32 cube ending because of this (not that I'd even be capable of solving some of the more difficult puzzles). And that ending! Really beautiful stuff.
