Intro

Bombshell is an isometric shoot-em-up. You walk through small corridors, shoot stuff and upgrade your weapons and abilities. A bit.

Review

This is an older game starring a lady with an unusual amount of cleavage for a soldier whose codename actually is Bombshell. Because her name is Shelley. She has a talkking robot arm and there are aliens. Other than that it's a bog-standard military shooter.

Despite all that, this isn't terrible. The shooting is ok, knocking aliens away with the charging punch is kinda amusing and its simplicity is almost charming in a way. On the flip side, it seems you only get the punch as offensive ability and you really just get 2 different guns in the first 84 minutes. The corridors are small too. And terrain doesn't become transparent when you're begind it. Worst is the excessive amount of screen shake, especially in the first 15 minutes.

Mostly this is just really simplistic and dated. This kind of shmup just feels like an enormous step down compared to first/third-person shooters.

deepdoop's review of Bombshell

5.5/10

Bombshell is completely and utterly okay. The twin-stick--seriously, use the controller--shooting is fine and it's a fun game. The lite-RPG elements aren't fantastic as you just upgrade health, armour, etc, along with your weapons... but it's not very exciting. The main character is self-aware and cheesy, but incredibly repetitive (Duke Nukem she is not). The story doesn't matter in the least. The boss battles are kinda boring but aside from that I had a good enough time to recommend it.
