Preliminary: I mean, I'm a sucker for platformers, and it's beautiful for 93, and I like the tailspin. But I wish you could tailspin while jumping, and the level design has been that irritating sort of platformer so far. Just "let's pile a bunch of the enemy" as the challenge. But I'm several levels in already, so we shall see. It's just feeling quite innocuous and meh so far. Maybe it's just unfair going straight from Castlevania Rondo of Blood, which had dodge rolls and backflips seamlessly integrated into one of my favorite platforming frameworks. So kinda unfair to go straight to this lol.

I do really like, as always, the bouncing-off-enemies mechanic, and when they just focus on straightforward platforming without irritating enemy placement, the decent platforming controls can shine.

Welp right after writing that it was right back to the annoying enemy placement and level design, with some jumps that you had to be pixel perfect for already in the first area and with an otherwise quite low difficulty. And now I'm in a segment where it's just like they threw a bunch of enemies at a wall and put on whichever ones stuck.

I really liked the level select/transition screen music. And I just finished the first boss. Hm.

Booo you start back with just 3 HP out of 5 (silly) and 0 Nuts, I thought I'd carry over from the prior stage. And then another just annoying screen of onslaught of the same enemies I had already dealt with in this stage. Time to move on
