Port of Total Eclipse

Before diving deep, I just wanted to mention that this game was released about 2 weeks before the ps1 launch, in which it was released for a console that wasn't on the market yet at the time.
Originally this game was intended for the 3DO, but because the system's price was nut, it found a way to other platforms later on. you'll find it available on second hand market from time to time selling for dirt cheap. at least for the PS1 port.
I never played the original version on the 3DO which some people say it is better than the ps1, but I'm not wasting money on a 3DO to make sure. console's freaking expensive to buy, and I don't think it's worth it either.
The gameplay is as simple as any other Shoot'em up game with an adjusted camera angle to make it feel more 3D. Controls are a clunky mess, world design is obnoxious and doesn't do much to help you navigate even with the manual in your hand, the framerate isn't stable and sometimes it shoots up unintentionally and speeds up the game, its a mess with less to no optimization. I didn't mention the while the world is moving forward, you will, in some section, get some motion sickness, or the draw distance which somehow they managed to make it worse than Starfox on the Super Nintendo!
There aren't much to do in the game, and the game itself doesn't try to do anything special besides the cutscenes. If you managed to get through with the trash this game gives, The cutscenes are enjoyable.
The whole game is a waste of time and money. I've already read about the game and seen gameplay footage before buying it, but I did so to complete the PS1 Launch retrospective. If you're not dedicated, don't buy.
