Man. So Jun Maeda apparently has a degree in psychology, and this is how he puts it to use. It's got me asking all sorts of questions. Please don't ask me what these questions are referring to...If this was Youtube, I would get demonetized.

This game surprisingly has some level of game in it-- Basic map exploration and some obtuse trivia sections -- which spice up the usual visual novel linearity. The actual plot is pretty interesting, if not very well set up. Psychic cult infiltration and all that. Just how is it, you may ask, that we train our minds to withstand the immense burden that is the "invisible power?" Yet again, the anecdotal Youtube ban-hammer hovers above me....

anime omg

Despite the amateurishly stark writing filtered through a mid 2000's weeb translation, the at times goofy looking early Hinoue art, the samey backgrounds and questionable scenarios... I find myself having a good time. I'm reading AIR at the same time, which I remember fondly but play begrudgingly due to it's slogging pace and disconnected routes. But this hot mess? This problematic disaster? Sure, maybe it's setting women's rights back about 50 years, but at least there's an emo anime girl who slices people in half with her mind a friendly demon roomie who dresses like he lives at Hot Topic. It's stupid, it's messy, it's selling copies for the sake of kink but I can appreciate it's 90's trashy ADV charm and it's B-Movie exploitation film flair. Don't play it. I like garbage. I'm doing it for the cool looking demon boy.
