“Nintendo Labo: VR Kit is another unique Nintendo Labo experience that further blends the physical and digital worlds to bring the gameplay to life,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Many of our young fans – and even some of our older ones – have yet to try virtual reality, so this is an approachable way for kids and families to get introduced to this new world.”

So I bought this in Best Buy's recent sale ($20 for VR!) and I built the labo headset. I tried it out for a bit. Some stuff wowed me and some stuff is lackluster. I was wowed by the space of it all. When my little polygonal hero jumped inches away from my nose, he truly felt that close. On the other hand: No head tracking on the Switch obviously, but when you are in that VR space, you try to move your head around instinctively. A little sad when nothing happens.

There are a ton of mini games to check out, and I have yet to build the gun thing. So far I am a little let down by the mini games, but I still like hanging out in VR Land.

And I guess I should say- I DID have fun building the headset. The music picking up as you advance to the next steps, the joy-cons aggressively rumbling as if they are going to take off... just tons of nice little Nintendo details. Hoping to see more little Nintendo details as I continue playing and building.
