A 2005 puzzle game developed by a group of Japanese students, Cloud centers upon a small boy who dreams of flight whilst sleeping in his hospital bed. The player controls the boy's dream avatar as it soars over a collection of small islands. The primary focus of the game is to gather and manipulate clouds in order to create various shapes and ward off incoming rain clouds.

Wow, Nobody Has Ever Played This Game

If you are reading this, that means you are a fan of thatgamecompany and their titles such as Flower and Journey and were curious if they made anything else. Well, back in the day they made this free game called Cloud and honestly it is an okay game.

I say okay because it is not really long, the graphics are alright, and the gameplay is fun, but a bit confusing. So why 4 stars instead of 3? A few reasons: 1.The game is 100% free. If the game was 10 dollars on steam, I would call it a rip-off. 2.The music makes my heart hurt. Whoever composed this music is a genius, it is just so emotional and builds such a heavy atmosphere. In addition to the poetic text and pretty stills, it almost creates a narrative. Your mind just connects all of the artistic detail and you are just immersed.

3.The gameplay is unique and fun. You absorb clouds and then can release them to have them follow you or create larger clouds or make a shape. You use the clouds to battle these dark storm clouds, and you have to do so in a way that doesn't dissolve your own clouds. It is simple but there were the later stages that stumped me because I never had enough clouds to dissolve the dark clouds.

4.The flying, while not a game mechanic is cool. Soaring freely over the ocean and islands is just awe inspiring.

My soul aches because it would be so much better is they remade this in HD with the same engine as Journey. 5.It was made in 2005. Its old, like super old and was made by like 1-5 people, so it deserves some slack.

So yea if you like flower and journey or are just bored and need something to play and you have no money. I'd recommend Cloud.
