tuexss's review of Die Fugger II

"Trading simulator" is a massive understatement for this game. Trading was one part of it, but it was all about politics. You could rise to power by rising in the ranks of the city, or in the ranks of the church, through sheer money, by killing competitors, by adjusting law, by building a dynasty with wifes and children and strategic marriages and a thousand more little details. This game was a precursor to the Europa Universalis series and way ahead of its time.
