Preliminary: Well this is interesting. The gadgets aspect (fitting, I know) is a really nice touch, making the game feel varied and fun. it's a bit tedious cycling through the different gadgets, but it seems quite organic and intuitive so far. It's taken some trial and error but nothing ridiculous. I hope it can keep my interest. I am not a huge Inspector Gadget guy but I did the movie (at least partly because I always had a crush on Matthew Broderick... sorta... at least in this movie I suppose haha). Anyway, point being, nostalgia for the character isn't what's driving me: it's the fun platforming (which I am a sucker for). The music is fitting/appropriate and the Look is decent enough, tho neither is spectacular. So hopefully the Play continues to suffice!
Day 1
Great colors in these parts
Nice and you can hit away enemy projectiles, it just keeps loading on the positives. You can go multiple ways through a level but they all are intuitive and flow regardless, for the most part you don't have to backtrack or regret your choice.

Welp another area/boss done. They are going quickly, tho there is definite difficulty in parts of the levels. It's fast-paced and fun so far.
Day 2
Not in love with this jungle themed level, nor the boss of it. The difficulty is increasing and some of its faults are coming more into light as they increase the difficutly, such as some iffy collision masks. Also silly that he says ouch when he successfully hits something, including the projectiles. Always throws me off :-p
Welp onto Stage 4, and there are only 5 in total!
Also not a fan of this cart riding segment. And never fun to have to time a punch during a jump just to break a blcok that's blocking your way, tho it did remind me of Castlevania. It was a frequent problem throughout the game, but was just getting more noticable/irritating in late game. Still, a good fun platformer.
Lol that level's boss (stage 4's boss) was sillily easy compared to the last 2 stages themselves. But on to the last stage, tho it's bed time for tonight!
Day 3
Ugh these bad collision masks and too-many-hits-for-average-enemies are really coming to the forefront in the last level. Ruining that intuitive, accessible fast-paced fun.
Oh wait I had read Stage 5 was last stage? But not so. But this is clearly the last stage now with Stage 6. I was gonna say, the Stage 5 boss was very underwhelming after how difficult the stage itself was.
And at last!
Nice colors for the credits and a pretty good tune
Look: 8/10 Great colors tho overall nothing spectacular
Sound: 7.5/10 I never muted it so that's good :-p
Play: 8/10 Despite its flaws, I played it through to the end and nice touch with the different gadgets, even if I never did use the little mini Inspectors
Feel: 8/10 Cute and fun. Would've loved owning this as a kid, instead of say We're Back :-p
Attachment: 7.5/10
Overall: 7.8/10
Completion: Main Story
Playtime: ~1h 50m
Inspector Gadget is a solid platformer with great graphics, catchy songs, interesting game mechanics, and a overwhelming difficulty level. Even though the game is fun at times, usually it is more frustrating than anything else because of the 2 hit and your dead system similar to games such as Ghost and Goblins. For this reason, the game requires repeated tries and lots of trial and error in each stage to advance.
If you like challenging 2d platformers, then this game might be a good choice even if you don't care much about the cartoon. If not, then I would suggest other titles that are not as merciless.
