In the game you start with a number of barbarian units in your army. If any of your units are killed during a scenario your tribe will send automatic reinforcements right before you start your next scenario in the campaign. Units gain experience when fighting so try to keep your experienced units alive by healing them next to a Wagon Train. New units given to you by your tribe have a lower experience.
