This release is basically Solarix and De-Void combined together into a walking simulator, meant to allow players to focus on the story and the background when Solarix' stealth horror gameplay gets in the way of immersion. So, no deranged foes to hide from or confront, PAC is meant for players who have loose ends to tie up or simply want to enjoy the story.
However, as much as I have given Solarix a try in the beginning part, the cliché of the space horror plots are riddled throughout and didn't bring any notable refreshment to the experience, let alone in PAC. Outdoor levels are mainly so large that it felt like a bore just walking from one end to another (the desert walk in De-Void was outrageous, a vehicle feature would have been appreciated). More than a few times I felt lost trying to look back and forward to find anything that will progress the game further. It baffles me that I managed to endure it until the end; I guess I was hoping for some tidbits of the audiologs and the dialogues to have some pay-off closer to the end.

As much as Planet Ancyra Chronicles is an appreciated service for faithful players of either games that want a clearer picture of the surrounding events, I don't find it worth the time I put into this. Only hardcore fans may find a shred of engagement through this enigmatic yet clunky output.
