Fun if nostalgic?
Maybe more fun if you played the OG as a kid or something. I don't get it.
Pretty good for what it is
This review is for the Mac version
Obviously this isn't a "good" game. The gameplay gets repetitive, the guns are all too similar and the same handful of enemies are repeated.
However, what this is is a piece of fan service for fans of the original Chex Quest as well as fans of 90s first person shooters generally. The hallway design of DOOM is here and so is the weird charm of Chex Quest.
What really makes this game is the fact that it's free, while most companies would have been cheeky and made you pay for a literal advertisement Chex are giving it away for free, so there's no reason to not play this game. Grab it and have a laugh for an hour or so.
It's not crunchy enough..
I know I should not criticize over a F2P game but the jumping mechanic in this game is quite frustrating. I can't even jump down to certain platform correctly. Good for laugh though.
