Maybe don't play this
It's not great. It's repetitive. The graphics don't hold up either. And yet I love this game. That was my nostalgia talking again. I know, I need to shut it up. I played this game a lot when I was younger. N64 games were expensive, and I picked this up cheap at the bargain bin of a rental store.

It's not great. It's repetitive. The graphics don't hold up either. And yet I love this game. That was my nostalgia talking again. I know, I need to shut it up. I played this game a lot when I was younger. N64 games were expensive, and I picked this up cheap at the bargain bin of a rental store.
The gameplay doesn't offer much and so I used to try and barge rivals off the road or into oncoming traffic, Burnout-style. You didn't need to though because you could win without doing much. And maybe that's the best thing about this game. You really don't have to do much. Just "Cruis".
Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I think the whole race thing was added for marketing purposes, because they thought no one would put quarters in an arcade machine just to drive across the USA while listening to some decent tunes. Well, certainly not most people anyway...
