Fates are sealed as paradigms shift and a new era unfolds. What lies beyond the path toward hope? Inti Creates' flagship 2D side-scrolling "Azure Striker GUNVOLT" series is back with a brand new title! Just as they did for the previous two games in the series, action supervisor Keiji Inafune will be working closely with series director Yoshihisa Tsuda of Inti Creates to craft new systems and ideas that take the action the series is known for to the next level.

Soneria's review of Azure Striker Gunvolt 3
This review is for the PC (Microsoft Windows) version

While it is one of the more controversial and less liked entry in the series, it is overall my personal favorite. I remember playing and replaying 1 and 2 many times back in 2017 and again in 2022 as 3 was releasing, but the overall smoothness of this games movement is just amazing to me. While it certainly lacks some of the childlike charm the first 2 had, it makes up for it with pure gameplay. I can agree though that it isn't for everyone and if you were looking for a game like 1 and 2 you won't get that with 3, instead you get an insanely precise turbo speed hack and slash platformer that is easy to learn and monstrous to master.

The steady horni-fication of Gunvolt and the time gap leave me a little put off by this entry into the series. Not to mention it's kind of become so flashy as to lose a lot of the depth the first 2 games had. I still want to finish it, and the character interactions keep me attached but I'm not quite as enthralled as I was with the first 2....

Superb and satisfying combat and platforming mechanics, but another example of a game with far too much voiced dialogue and exposition. The player character even went as far as to explain how spike pits work and how I should avoid them. The voice acting is also bottom of the barrel Anime dub style acting and thus exceptionally grating. Please indie devs, consider forcing less written or spoken info on us and let your game’s mechanics teach the player.
