Surprisingly Fun And Addictive, Tho Just An Average Atari Shoot Em Up

Look: 7/10 Classic Atari feel. Technically nothing special but I like that it focused on the Atari colors I love and had the colors change as part of the gameplay.

Sound: 6/10 Technically annoying, but it didn't really get to me. Instead, just your usual for the era.

Play: 7/10 Weird to finally feel like I need to do the higher difficulty for an Atari game, but yeah the easy mode is fun but almost too easy. Either I'm getting better at gaming or this game has a nice wide range of difficulty levels :-p which I appreciate. I thought it was just another silly half assed shoot em up (which, indeed, it is, even after reading the manual), but I got oddly into it. It was time to watch the wire with my husband last night, but I struggled to put it down heh. So I replayed it the next morning at a higher difficulty level and enjoyed it again. Still, after hitting 1,000 Score, the true nature of it being a repetitive, typical shoot em up kept glaring at me, where tho this stood out for me for whatever reason, it's certainly time to move on. So many Atari action games, and I'm over here spending over 30 minutes on some silly one lol.. smh at myself. While this really deserves a 6, I'm giving it a 7 cuz I can't deny I was oddly addicted to it.

Feel: 8/10 I genuinely don't know why I enjoyed this so much. The controls are technically clunky, the enemies can shoot diagonally but you cant, the shooting mechanic is that Berzerk-era sloppiness, and it's quite repetitive. But for whatever reason it clicked with me. I suppose I guess it's kinda cool it depends on what color walls you are around for points. And the ricocheting enemy bullets. Otherwise, nothing special tbh.

Attachment: 7/10 And even as I typed all that,... I somehow kept playing over 1,000 Score! What is it about this simple game that catches me?? Heh...I just kept wanting to kill the next enemy lol. How often I will replay it is questionable, but clearly it will be remembered. And a go-to for pick-up-and-play Atari games at the next get-together :-p enter image description here

Completion: 2,010 Score with several lives left at "Game 2" Difficulty Level Playtime: ~40 mins
