Did a playthrough of this recently... and yeah, it's a pretty cool little handheld side game to go along with the Sakura Wars series. What stands out the most for this one is definitely the sprite art, which I have to imagine is among the very best for the Game Boy Color. The simple renditions of the series' iconic soundtrack is also fun to hear, and the game itself is fun enough for quick romp. It's basically a Tokimeki Memorial style of daily life sim, but instead of romancing the girls you just befriend them. The dialogue is pretty basic for the most part, but if you like the characters at all it's fun to just spend time with them outside of the main games. Recommended if you're interested in exploring some of the more obscure but intriguing oddities of the Game Boy era of handheld gaming.

Fan translators doing amazing things... We can now play the first Game Boy Color release for the Sakura Wars series in English! I'm not going to expect too much from it, but what I'm seeing here is rather impressive for a little old handheld.
