Surprisingly High-Quality Collect/Dodge Em Atari Game

Look: 7/10 Technically just functional, but the colors at the top and bottom of the playfield. And the title screen (I was always a fan of Tazmanian Devil) is good too. enter image description hereenter image description here

Sound: 7/10 I love the sound for the Crazed WAve

Play: 8/10 I never knew how much I like collect em games! This one had just the right mechanics, setting, and pacing. I thought I was getting bored around 500 Score, like most Atari action games, but next thing I know, I'm breaking 12k Score haha. And still having fun playing it. Tight, responsive, fast controls (almost too fast sometimes heh, led to a few of my deaths)

Feel: 8/10 I wish Taz played more of a role than the title screen and the tornado sprite heh. I usually am not big into the dodge em/collect em games, but this one hit the right spot I suppose. I did have fun, but it wasn't enough to get me to use all my lives. Kinda shows how much I've improved with gaming over time to still have both lives and just choose to stop at such a "high" score (high to me heh, don't come at me true gamers/classic arcade …

Kinda shows how much I've improved with gaming over time to still have both lives and just choose to stop at such a "high" score (high to me heh, don't come at me true gamers/classic arcade gamers :-p ). Oh wow, and I kept pushing--and hit the Crazed Wave ha look at me actually getting to the parts most Atari/arcade gamers find a usual checkpoint. But of course, that was around my cap of ejoyment heh: so fast-paced. I wound up choosing to stop at about 55k score so I can get my screenshots--and move on! Surprisingly good game, tho! Oh, and forgot to mention, I always like when I don't need the manual: just pick up and play! Would be a good one to have out for family get-togethers, instead of just arcade games. enter image description here

Attachment: 7/10 I actually came into this planning to play the game Asterix, which apparently is the same title but different name/setting/release area (French cartoon character, as opposed to Taz). But I didn't have access to Asterix while at work, so I went with this game instead--and I'm glad I did! This game surprised me by how fun it was. How often I will return to Atari arcade action games is questionable, but if I ever do, or if I'm showing my brothers Atari action games instead of the technically better arcade action games from this era, this would be on the list! Definitely my favorite collect em/dodge em game so far.

Completion: ~55,000 Score Playtime: ~25 mins
