You ever play a game from the same franchise, and think to yourself ‘wow, this is amazing. It can't get better’ and then it does? Because same. Chubby pixel has finally released Woodle Tree 2. Immerse yourself into a new world with all new levels to explore. More features and less glitches than the previous one. This is one of those games that feels more deserving and fun to play if you tried its former because it lets you actively be part of the games development by seeing how things change and improve. This is an all new colorful world with new enemies and a new storyline to explore where you have to restore balance in your world. This map is huge and functions as a free roam map in that you can explore wherever and whenever you want. Simply complete the story or go out exploring, trying to find all the hidden ‘bells’ in order to fully upgrade your character. A small sneak peak, the store increased massively compared to Woodle Deluxe.

The graphics are beautiful. The entire world looks crisp and clear with no low poly assets. The rendering on this game is also amazingly done. Looking into the distance, you can see the far away lands which fade away in a short fog. Perfect technique to hide the world without having loaded in fully. More indie games should adhere to this technique which I commonly only see in AAA games. I was really impressed by that. But you know what impressed me even more? That the graphics also run perfectly on Mac. Sure, the Mac gets hotter quickly but still, props to that. However, don't think this game is for the faint of heart, it's more challenging than you think it is. I fell into the same trap. You will fall, you will die, you will forget to activate a checkpoint. It sucks, but that's the fun of it. Now, to summarize my review, is this game worth it? yes. For its price (pre sale) it's 100% worth it. There's so much to explore and do, part of the story or side story. I myself am just 2 hours in and i'm far from being done. And I didnt even do any side missions. Trust me, you will struggle and die here and there which will extend the time to beat this game by an hour easily. if you really are up for a challenge, you can even try to 100% this game. Easily adds another hour or more in case you missed something in your initial playthrough, forcing you to travel to far lands for a single objective. All in all, if you are in love with the woodle tree series, this game is a must play. By now its the best of the series!
