Since only the first Phantasmat game is catalogued here on Grouvee, I didn't bother adding any others until I played this one - it is by far my favorite. The first game is very beloved by the diehard HOPA community, but only if you love pure hidden object games as it asks you to do a hidden object minigame every 2 minutes. The second one is actually my 2nd favorite, but then it hits a lull until Phantasmat 5: Behind the Mask.
This might be the darkest HOPA game I've ever played. The entire game takes place in a manor (my favorite horror environment), and you are surrounded by some series sadists. The game does not shy from showing torture, body horror, and the like. This type of horror where it's semi-realistic is my favorite. I don't like supernatural stuff because it's just not scary or interesting to me.
The puzzles and exploration are very solid, but its the overall layout and subject matter that made it shine for me. But I do also recommend Phantasmat Crucible Peak (the second game) as the puzzling is really good there as well.
We will see if any other game in the series …

We will see if any other game in the series is good enough for me to want to post a review, but for now this is my absolute favorite. Point and click horror fans should absolutely check it out.
