I was listening to an old Retronauts podcast about bad purchasing decisions, and I have to tell a story about this game.

I think it was my 8th birthday that this all happened. My parents gave me a card that said they would take me to Toys R Us to get any NES game that I wanted. I had wanted the original Final Fantasy for a long time because my best friend, Lars, owned it.

I found it in the case, and was so excited to get it. My mom was the one who took me, and she was a little further down the aisle. She saw the Peter Pan game, and said, oh, PJ (I'm Peter Joseph), look at this game! Somehow my dumb 8 year old brain thought it was a good idea to get that instead of Final Fantasy.

My younger brother was very upset with me when we came home.
