I'll give credit where credit's due when it comes to taking library-driven rhythm games further. Music Killer is an arena fps where music (whether it's your mp3, Youtube etc.) decides the pace and intensity of the fight against spawning enemies during the song span. Reminiscent of Devil Daggers, only that this sports the 80s environment, features power-up drops and your weapon arsenal grows with the score you build up.
Alas, the freshness wears short because it runs on an unrefined formula and most of the fights feel samey. The combo system based on your firing timed with the song beat is often too hectic or unserving because you have your attention split between maneuvering the enemies and keeping track on the timing beats that appear as small symbols in your crosshair.
Music Killer helps break new ground in the rhythm genre by combining fps elements with custom song generation features but it has quite a way to go beyond its flawed formula. The low price is fair, though, for people who'd like to give it a test run with a few songs at least.
Favourite song played on it: Very Noise by Igorrr (IDM/Avant-garde metal)
