A Quality Game With A Lot To It, A Bit Too Much For Me
This review is for the Apple II version

Look: 8/10 Surprisingly nice. Great Apple II colors and an interesting UI that gave me future adventure game feels. enter image description here

I'm a sucker for these Apple II colors enter image description here

Sound: 6/10 Mostly just annoying, but occasionally the sound would surprise me with its creativity (with so little). Not included in the score.

Play: 7/10 Very interesting to see predictive text so early (tho it's quite clumsy... I wondered if the inaccuracy was intentional to make players second-guess the prediction, e.g. "nail planks to..." This is quite elaborate for the text adventures at the time--didn't expect that. Felt like a true adventure with distinct areas (and indeed, certain events could only happen in certain areas etc).

The UI and look almost did it, but the gameplay was basically a text adventure extrapolated upon a broader adventure game context with a cool inventory UI that still, in the end, was just another usual text adventure inventory feature. Plus, the predictive text got frustrating, since it was so sporadic and sometimes inaccurate.

Attachment: 7/10 A little over-complex for my taste, but very advanced and well-done. I think I might try this again to see if I can get further (more so will want to the next time).

Completion: To the bamboo/monkeys part Playtime: ~ 35 mins
