90s metaverse: pure digital nostalgia

Just stumbled upon this via this small documentary. As Zuckerberg announced the transformation of facebook into a metaverse, it's interesting to have a look at how the first versions of metaverses looked in the 90s. I also realized that similar to some MMos JediAcademy served me and my friends as a kind of metaverse back in the day, as we never played on the servers but just used it as a virtual social interaction space, not to play but just to hang out. WorldsChat on the other hand has a creative drive to it, as players also freely create new rooms and spaces connected to the existing world. Very vaporwave and definitely very deep in the nostalgic parts of the intrawebz.
