The more I play this, the sadder I get. FFD1 is one of my favorite Final Fantasies. I don't really know why, but maybe I was just really craving the nostalgia it provided in the mid-2010s. The more I play this, the sadder I get. FFD1 is one of my favorite Final Fantasies. I don't really know why, but maybe I was just really craving the nostalgia it provided in the mid-2010s. This mess, however, is just a mobile click through. Make a few decisions. Autobattle. Do some menus. Autobattle. I'm about three hours in, and nothing's really happening. It has all the benchmarks of a make-it-up-as-you-go-as-long-as-the-$$-keeps-rolling-in mobile game. Also, the characters are typical and annoying, but man Aemo is awful. A girl with amnesia? Shocking. All of her lines are like "Dark... and light?" "Elves...?" "Dwarfs...?" "People...?"

@WardCove does Aemo ever get any less annoying?

Alright, sure, I'll play your gacha excuse for a "sequel" to Final Fantasy Dimensions. Right now, the only thing they have in common is the "something good happened" fanfare.

I hope I like this.

I'm on chapter 4-1 now and the story is picking up a bit. I find myself having fun with this game even though I think the choice to do waves of battles to continue the story was a little poor. Still, I'm happy I'm enjoying it enough.

I'm about 10 hours in and I gotta say that the gameplay loop on this is so strange. I get that they were trying to make it more mobile friendly, but the first game was so much more fun overall. Still having fun in small bursts, but I definitely can't play for long periods of time.
