A game reminiscent of Cookie Clicker where players cook batches of Methamphetamine.

cookie clicker with some added mechanics for a player to balance

I confess the dirty habit of playing Clickingbad. This game is a cookie clicker inspired game about... well you know. I enjoyed this game for 3 reasons.

First, the management is really unique. I liked this game because of the mechanics and the goal of the player to balance them. this game introduces a twist that clicker games dont have, in the form of heat.

Heat builds up from your manufacturing and distribution, and it exists in two varieties, the DEA and the IRS. Early and mid game the heat combined with production and distribution essentially create four mechanics to balance as you build and expand and its perfect kind of element. At some point i found this to fall apart. Heat management becomes a big part of the game but they made it way too easy after midgame and more or less discarded it completely. How sinful.... Second, I like where this goes and what its building off of. I like stuff like dope wars (which is also an excellent manage focused sim, but its more of a trading type game) and a dark room (this has a bit of a dark room feel in the way it looks as well as the way things open up)

Finally, clicking games where you would click the mouse as fast as you can seems like an appropriate but irreverent joke to make fun of cookie clicker in this regard. (Maybe its a joke maybe not, but i thought was funny)

NOTE: this game is not necessarily a 'clicker', you could do it that way but its optional and really the balance of management is what matters, clicking just fills in rough spots when you dont manage it right or run out of something temporarily because of cost or a big jump.

The game falls apart for me after mid game. heat reduction becomes too OP and it just doesnt have the same feel. However early game trying to manage four things with the upgrade paths is pretty cool. I vastly prefer a management type game mechanic where you are managing a balance of numbers and timings of what you put into motion rather than how fast you can whip your mouse around. This game is about as close in spirit and feel to a turn based game (Nobunga's Ambition comes to mind) as you can get but the turns are spilling over in realtime. I'm completely lacking in thinking of anything to compare it too in this regard but it would be nice to come across more maangerial type games that lean a bit like this that go beyond bare box TBT type formulae that have existed for centuries, but offer a bit more than a farmville type 'daily grinder.' or play by email (I've played my fair share of games like Cyber Nations)
