I saw a couple of indie/roguelite youtubers cover Cube Chaos this week and picked it up right away.
It's a 2D sideview real-time strategy roguelite with a Slay the Spire style set-up. You make your units and they march to the right toward the enemy's leader, while the enemy makes units that march left. Except there's digging, all kinds of structures to make, perks that change how units work, units that play like spells, curses, perks that change how gravity works, you can go into debt and have to deal with debt collectors, etc. The graphics are the most basic pixel art there is, but the builds and interactions have a ton of mechanical depth. Things can get wild. Even within a run, I frequently have to have multiple win conditions in case the enemy has a counter.
It's a really novel way to deliver the fun of making builds that roguelites offer. I'll definitely be keeping it installed for a long time, since it's the perfect game to pop into a for a run and see what happens.
