Be still, my beating heart

I've had this one on my wishlist for a while, but was waiting for a sale. I happened to check the eShop the other night and saw that it was down to like $20. Sold!

I've had this one on my wishlist for a while, but was waiting for a sale. I happened to check the eShop the other night and saw that it was down to like $20. Sold!

Mannn, I really dig it! I'm super picky about rhythm games, especially with how amazingly well-done the two Theatrhythm games are. This is obviously not the same sort of game, but it's not trying to do anything crazy that just doesn't work for a rhythm game like so many of them do.

There are nearly 80 DLC packs, which is dangerous for me. I snagged a few, including the handful of free ones. I was scrolling through and came across Cruel Angel Thesis and went "Say whaaaaaat!!!!" Also, there's one Tales song, from TotAbyss, so that was a nice surprise. The song selection in general is pretty varied, so I'm happy with it.

I was feeling a bit frustrated at first because I knew that I was hitting notes exactly, but was getting OKs instead of GOODs a lot with the "kat" notes. Unless I missed it in the tutorial, I didn't realize that the "kat" notes were supposed to be hit when the note touched the rim of the marker, and not the center like the "don" notes. I was doing the right motion/motion + L, but not hitting it on the rim.

I figured a few days of play was enough to review a game like this. Definitely happy that I snagged it!
