Great NES Run n Gun Platformer, Lacking An Oomph To Compete In '91

Preliminary: Ahhh 1991 is going to take forever. Every game so far has been well worth a proper play session. I figured an NES run n gun/platformer would be quite passable in 1991, and the controls are a bit clunky especially with movement + attacking, but I'm already borderline hooked, they did the different characters really well, and the music …

Preliminary: Ahhh 1991 is going to take forever. Every game so far has been well worth a proper play session. I figured an NES run n gun/platformer would be quite passable in 1991, and the controls are a bit clunky especially with movement + attacking, but I'm already borderline hooked, they did the different characters really well, and the music of Mission 1-2 is a jam. Ahhh

I do wish you got healed after bosses or something. Or some collectible to heal?

Day 1

Nice finished Mission 1 without any guides, cheats, etc. It seems Nintendo games were uh, more doable for me when they were NA releases :-p I wonder why ;) haha. Cool that they give you a password and that you get to select different characters for each mission.

I am starting to debate calling it quits and a 3 star. As good as the Play is, it still has the NES sprit flicker/slow down and lacks something, like a particularly good Look (and tho the Sound is good, it's still missing an oomph). But then I finish whatever boss I'm on and can't help but continue :-p

Yeahhhh on 2-2, another one of those non-linear levels where you have to find the checkmarks, I burned out. Still, a great, late NES title.

Look: 7/10

Sound: 8/10

Play: 7.5/10

Feel: 8/10

Attachment: 7.5/10 Full of neat ideas. Just a bit "late to the party" for the NES and lacking an "oomph"/1991-level-Look/etc . I can imagine how excellent this would ahve been with SNES capabilities!

Overall: 7.6/10

Completion: Mission 2-2

Playtime: ~30 mins
