Only Play Remastered/Remade Versions of the Original Dunjonquests
This review is for the Apple II version

So for consistency sake I was planning to play the trs 80 version, as I did with the first dunjonquest. But nervous cuz this isn't in the trilogy re-release, so didn't give it a fair chance… the apple ii and atari versions already have better graphics, speed, etc.

Well, I wound up not being able to get TRS-80 or Atari 800 versions to work, so I wound up playing the Apple II version thanks to archive.org . Uff, still as unplayable as the first Dunjonquest. I was hoping it being shorter, newer, and on Apple II would make it better. But still so slow mapping each screen, and the gameplay just simply isn't fun. (Even tho at least now there's finally graphics, which are great, but not enough to make the game playable). At least I don't have to feel bad about not giving it an earnest try by sticking with the TRS 80 version! And I don't feel so bad for only playing the TRS 80 version of the first Dunjonquest too.

If you do have the patience for it, like always the manual helps: chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/viewer.html?pdfurl=https%3A%2F%2Fmocagh.org%2Fepyx%2Fdatestonesryn-alt.pdf&clen=5944206&chunk=true

Look: 7/10 Play: 6/10 Feel: 6/10 Effectively unplayable. And doesn't even have the cool room descriptions in the manual like the old one. I do like the time limit and datestone-collecting aspect, but I never even got to enjoy it because the game was too unplayable. Attachment: 6/10
