raize221's review of Nosferatu

Beautiful graphics and very well done character animations reminiscent of Prince of Persia make this one of the best looking games I've seen on the SNES.

Even playing on "easy" this is a difficult game and can become very frustrating if you aren't precise with timing. More annoying is that the controls are unresponsive enough it made me question the gamepad I was using. It seems a coin toss if you can start running when you want and your combo attacks are unreliable enough you'll want to avoid many enemies rather than take them out.

Still, the platforming is decent and it's enjoyable to find your way through the non-linear levels. The timer gives a sense of urgency to keep you moving at the expense of exploration but becomes more of a hindrance in later levels when combined with frequent invisible traps that require you to stop experimenting and memorize a single path.

Overall; a fun game if you have the patience to match it, but is sorely held back by the controls.
