I found it frustrating enough to play that I didn't see it to the end, but they make good use out of an almost adventure-game style metroidvania approach to items. The game as a whole works surprisingly well, as weird as it is. I've always liked shorter Metroidvanias like this. I finished everything in just under 3 hours, and it's got a lot of variety. I also like how some of the conflicting design of the game is a part of the story. The game is just a bit too precious and Mario-like for my taste, but I can definitely appreciate it.
