In this game, the player is a bee with a stinger. You fly over flowers for points and must avoid the trees and fires as well as the enemy bugs. You may use your stinger to kill bugs, but only one stinger is allowed on the screen at a time.

A Pleasant Surprise -- Unique, Bee-Themed Shoot Em Up

Look: 9/10 Wow, beautiful. The character sprite is excellent, the water has a great feel to it, and the overall setting just feels... nice. I've been noticing this lighthearted, feel-good look to more and more games as I get into '82. enter image description here

I also really like the hive graphic, but it was hard to get a good screenshot of it cuz it's the end of the level/round heh. enter image description here

Sound: 7/10 I always like "actual music" in these games, and the "song" is cute enough. But most the sound effects are mildly annoying (tho I will say some reminded me of the upcoming Mario era sounds).

Play: 8/10 Wow, I'm surprised how much I liked this. I've been enjoying these vertically scrolling shooters more lately. The controls were tight. I love that there are actual ends to the challenges/rounds; I feel like the challenge/learning curve is well-balanced among rounds.

Feel: 9/10 I absolutely love the look to this, and the gameplay is well-pulled-off for this style. I always like when I feel good at a game and I felt relatively good at this game (but it also had a healthy challenge that made me not able to get past round 3). Plus, …

I love bees heh, and I love our flower/ornamental garden at our home. You must give this a shot if you like lighthearted bright games at all, or if you like shoot em ups tbh.

Attachment: 8/10 Not that I think I will be returning to arcade shoot em ups all the time, but this will definitely be a go-to. It's up there with Space Invaders, etc.
