Flawed, Sure, But Put Me In A Platforming Fervor Till I Beat It In One Sitting

Preliminary: Wow okay after a string of 2 star games cuz I have high expectations for 93 apparently (or it's a lot of rehashed ideas/nothing innovative or particularly interesting so far), so I didn't have high expectations for this one. But the level design of this first level is very interesting and I really like the mechanics of this, like that your first hit turns an enemy into a platform (and I figured that out intuitively thanks to the well-done level design) and I like the Yoshi vibes with the dinosaur pet (I don't know the name :-X )

Wow I really like this so far. The music is.. okay and I can tell it will be annoying over time but that's okay--they devoted their energy to the great level design and mechanics :-p Only complaint so far is some sprite overload slowdown

Day 1

Even the usual gimmick of some stages being non-platformers, like the car level for Stage 3 is designed surprisingly well/not--annoyingly. And I was about to say they need to change up the song, and they did on the very next stage! tho I'm not in love with this "sinister"/dungeon-y new tune

Bahaha okay I can't …

Bahaha okay I can't claim it was a beloved game clear from the programmign because uh, your "duck" just removes your head lol. (see below for nbefore and after pressing down lol), but I dunno the level design is endearing and my type of gameplay enter image description hereenter image description here

I don't understand why games released on Nintendo consoles just ignored the sprite slowdown.

Welp I wound up intensively playing it all in one sitting heh, sign of a good addicting gameplay, even tho it was highly flawed and I can see why others gave a poor rating. Sadly it can't warrant a 5 star with the just-okay/if-not-somewhat-annoying music and the flaws in the gameplay, but still. A great GB platformer.

Look: 8/10 Nothing spectacular, but they did a good job with the characters. (And let's be honest, I gave it a .5 boost to ensure this got the 4 stars I wanted it to stand out for the year so far)

Sound: 7/10

Play: 9/10 Despite its flaws, I was hooked.

Feel: 8/10 Great feel to it, which helped make me overlook the sprite overload, occasional bugginess, and GB limitations.

Attachment: 8/10 It definitely made the list of replayable GB platformers... but then again, why wouldn't I just replay my favorite Genesis/Turbografx/SNES platformers if returning to this era's platformers. Who knows, there's always a chance!

Overall: 8/10
