Strategy/Sim Games Aren't Really My Thing, But A Quality Game -- And Early!

Play: 7/10 I can't deny, this game is very well-made. And gosh, the graphic version that came out later is absolutely beautiful. But still, this type stuff just isn't my thing--I don't really wanna be doing math problems (tho I guess I do often for rpgs and whatnot, not sure how to explain it, this feels like it's simply utterly a math problem). I guess simulation games I'm struggling to get into more than text-only adventure games. I'm predicting I will better click with simulation games once they're more graphic, cuz I know I used to kind of like Sims, Movies, Sim Theme Park, etc. I did wanna end on a high note in the game, at least! So it def motivated me to try again and again for best results, and experiment with different mindsets. (Ironically I did find the text-only version to be clearer about the relevant statistics/info/etc.)
Feel: 8/10 And turns out one of the most successful mindsets was taxing the rich and being generous with food heh :-p Fancy that. After playing the game for a night, probly a good hour or 2, I realized there are difficulty switches woops. Anyway, this has to be, so far, my preferred early simulation game (unless you consider Oregon Trail a sim)--but it just further confirms that sim is even less "my thing" than text adventure.
Attachment: 7/10 It's a complex game--and I shouldn't fault it so much for that. Still, I don't necessarily see myself replaying this unless going back for early sim games. I think I'll try graphic sim games before deciding too much about this. Either way, I'm pretty meh about this game overall--I enjoyed it enough, wanted to do better and better, but also didn't take the time to truly experiment with every facet of the game. I know strategy and sim games get only more complex, so I'm nervous about that. I remember trying Victoria and Crusader Kings and whatnot in the past, and just not being able to fully click due to the overwhelming amount of content. I like to be able to focus, enjoy the game, and move on at some point.
