Candies 'n Curses is a 2D arcade rogue-lite game, featuring chaotic 'sugar-rushed' ghost slaying. Play as Molli Pop as you fend off hordes of adorable ghosts and take down mischievous bosses, all within the cursed walls of a twisted mansion. Power-up with new flashlights and abilities as you level up - and join forces with ghostly pups and other spectral creatures as you work together to purge the mansion of its ghostly residents.

This is a fun little game. My only complaint is that sometimes I cannot swipe fast enough to play optimally. You control a character who continues running whatever direction you swipe within a 4 story 2D-room of monsters, where swiping up and down changes stories. Each room is themed for a different boss, and you have to kill a certain number of minions before proceeding to the boss fight. In between each new room, you can eat 1 of 3 random candies (positive effect on rest of run) or curses (high risk high reward impact on rest of run) that appear. I think it would fall under rogue-lite, but the "boss-fights" remind me very much of old platformers where you need to learn the patterns and then you feel so accomplished for making easy work of the fight. If the game clicks for you, it is definitely possible to beat without a lot of replaying, but I find it a lot of fun and did not remind grinding a bit to unlock charms/upgrades. There is a new game plus where the charms become more necessary, but repetition will make it easier even if you aren't buying lots of new charms. …

You can play this free to play and watch ads to get extra experience and one continue per run, while paying removes the ads and automatically gives you the extra exp and continue. Give it a try if you want something new to play on your phone.

P.S. a lot of the bosses have audio cues (all of them are accompanied by visual cues for those with hearing loss) so play with the sound for a little extra help. I also believe the soundtrack is on bandcamp if I remember correctly.
