Yet another HOPA I enjoyed enough to write a review for. This one just barely made it, but I found the gameplay and exploration and level of backtracking (and not too many hidden object mini games) fun enough for me to remember.

This is like, one of about 20-40 I’ve played that I enjoyed enough to review. The only thing making me hesitate is the art. It’s not nice and cohesive and painterly as my favorites in the genre are. It’s sort of a primitive version of the newer asset slop style where the scenes just look like a ton of reused assets pasted together - instead of a fully illustrated and individual scene, like my favorites.

But still, it’s a pretty ideal example of the gameplay I look for in the genre, a good balance of inventory puzzles, mini games, and lots of rooms to explore in a nonlinear fashion.
