This game is sometimes described as an RPG with Breakout/Arkanoid mechanics instead of turn-based battles. But that description may set you up for disappointment. You wouldn't approach a Star Wars pinball machine expecting it to play like KOTOR, so you shouldn't expect Wizorb to play like Legend of Zelda. This is really an RPG-themed brick-breaker, and I enjoyed it quite a lot for that.
The game feels a bit easier to control than what I remember of Arkanoid. The pixel art and animations are all really lovely, with significant changes in themes world to world that keep things interesting to look at.
The inherently repetitive mechanics made me feel almost meditative after a while, yet each world introduced at least a couple surprises that kept me engaged over its 3 or 4 hour play time. A nice palate cleanser between larger games.
